The Phillip Tate Golf Day – September 23rd at Moor Allerton Golf Club, Leeds
Phil Tate (Natural Science, Hatfield 1994-97) tragically died on March 2nd 2008 in a snowboarding accident whilst holidaying in France with family friends. Three years on family and friends have decided to organise an annual golf event in memory of Phil but also to raise money for the family’s chosen charity - the NSPCC Child’s Voice Appeal.
After Phil left Durham he qualified as an accountant with Arthur Andersen, became a senior manager at Ernst & Young and finally was a founding member and Investment Director at Endless LLP.
The combination of close family and friends and strong corporate contacts has meant the response to the golf day has been somewhat overwhelming. All golf teams (100 players) and hole sponsorships have been sold together with over 100 extra people coming to attend the after party celebration.
If you wish to support the day in any way or be more actively involved with the 2012 golf day please email Paul Miller – paulyjmiller@gmail.com – and feel free to leave a donation and message on the justgiving link - http://www.justgiving.com/Paul-Miller11.
