The first group of MSc Accounting students are now well on their way towards their dissertations
15 practising accountants enrolled for the first MSc in Accounting stream. Many of these people flew in from outside the Uk; some from as far away as Jamaica. (Perhaps next time we'll run the module out there).
The group felt they got tremendous value for money as the academic team from the Glamorgan campus turned out in force for the two weekends held at Moor Hall near Maidenhead. With this being the first time that the MSc in Accounting was being run off-campus, the tutors wanted to ensure all aspects of Masters level work were covered in the two weekends. Feedback from students and staff was that the weekends went very well, and certainly the university is very happy with the quality of the subsequent work. All the accountants are now embarking on their dissertation phase and are in the process of negotiating topics with staff at the university. Hopefully they'll all be complete by July next year, and attending the graduation ceremony with all their families - even if they will have to fly in from Jamaica !
