The Business School, responsible for the distance learning MScs in Marketing, Procurement and Accounting in conjunction with MDC Ltd, has an excellent track record in league tables, having also been ranked in the top 5 of The Times Good University Guide 2001. The rankings are compiled using a number of factors, including the Guardian Teaching Score, spend per student, job prospects upon leaving, student:staff ratio and a value-added scoring system. Glamorgan came out in the top 15 of the 113 Universities tabled. Glamorgan scored 6 out of 6 for their Teaching Inspection score, based on the Government’s teaching quality assessment (TQA) inspections. The School also scored 10 out of 10 in the Job Prospects section, derived from the 2000-01 HESA survey of students which tracks their destinations 6 months after graduating. MDC Managing Director Mike Sands said: “It speaks volumes for the quality of our courses that the Business School behind the teaching is so highly regarded. The fact that we had 5 distinctions on a recent MSc intake is testament to the excellent teaching standards of Glamorgan staff”.
